A Secret Quest - Gary Hanks, Artist in Residence
Hanks first began drawing and painting at about age five and has worked to build skills ever since. As an adult, he studied art at the university level and is degreed in Studio Art, Art Education, and Art History. Graduate work included studies in England, France, and Italy where he focused on medieval art and the history of landscape painting. Self-styled tours to remote and distant places help Hanks gather subject matter and gain inspiration. Exhibiting his work throughout his adult years, Hanks has won numerous awards. His one-of-a-kind, original graphite drawings and imaginative watercolors are included in many private and institutional collections.
